PURPOSE: To coordinate and provide access to quality care and services relating to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer for patients, their families and the communities we serve.
SERVICES: Telephone help-line for information about cancer services- “Surviving Cancer” bi-weekly support group, free public screenings for prostate, skin and colon/rectal cancers, education programs for the public and for healthcare professionals, publication of an annual report on local cancer incidence, assistance with nutritional supplements for qualifying patients undergoing cancer treatments through the Dollie K. Graham Memorial Fund, lung cancer education programs for elementary school students, BOWS (Because Our Women are Special) programs in cooperation with local employers to educate women in the workplace about the importance of screening mammograms and regular breast exams, STARS (Students Talking About Real Stuff) programs in cooperation with local high schools to educate young women about the importance of screening mammograms and regular breast exams; similar programs to educate young men about testicular cancer.
ELIGIBILITY: All cancer patients and their families in our 11- county service area.
FEE/Charges: Most services are free.
